Tina Karres
Owner
Lake Norman Nail Shop owner, Tina Karres, has done nails in Lake Norman since 1989. After relocating from South Carolina to work at Reid’s Salon Solutions, followed by Nail Loft on West Catawba, Tina opened Lake Norman Nail Shop in March of 1990. For the majority of that time, she was located in the A-frame building on Highway 21 & Statesville Rd before moving to the current building on Westmoreland Rd.
Tina credits much of her unique approach and exemplary skills in nail care and design to her training at Brand’s College of Beauty and the competitions she participated in, as a student and professional, from 1988-2005. She says, “Nail competition honed my skills and gave me opportunities to network and compare ideas with the best in the business.”
Over the past 30 years, she has enjoyed meeting people and granting nail wishes in Cornelius and surrounding areas and looks forward to continuing to do so in the future. Thank you for considering Lake Norman for all your nail care needs!
Lacy Myers
Lacy Myers, daughter of Tina, was raised in the nail salon watching Tina's work and playing with nail products since before she could talk. She has always been enchanted watching her mother apply acrylic and she says, "It's a satisfying process to observe and I can remember watching with a bird's eye view as a child sitting on my mom's lap."
After working in the service industry at Prosciutto's Pizza for seven years and Dog Supplies for almost two years, she enrolled in nail school in January 2022, completing her coursework and fully licensed by April. Now she is in the "master class" with her mom learning the nitty-gritty techniques of a true nail professional. She loves doing nail art and challenging herself with hand painting. She looks forward to perfecting her craft and carrying on her mom's motto of creating "the most natural nails money can buy".
